Two young bears have escaped from a reserve in south-east Britain and then ate a week's supply of honey from a nearby shop.
The two brown bears, each weighing about 180 kg, broke out of their enclosure and headed for a grocery store. Zoo officials asked visitors to go to a safe place while reserve staff searched for the escaped animals.
The shop owner said the bears ate several kilograms of fish, berries and a week's supply of honey. After that, the publication says, the animals returned to their enclosure on their own, where they fell asleep.
The zoo's press service said that an internal investigation is currently underway. Experts are finding out how the bears managed to escape from the enclosure and are taking the necessary measures to prevent such a thing from happening again.
