Xiaomi to Offer Lifetime Battery Warranty for New Hybrids (1 Photo)

Xiaomi's lineup of Skynomad hybrid crossovers will feature new traction batteries branded as Dragonscale. According to CarNewsChina, the company claims their performance significantly exceeds national standards, prompting Xiaomi to offer crossover buyers a lifetime battery warranty.



Dragonscale batteries surpass national lifespan standards thanks to strict raw material quality control and innovative engineering solutions, the company stated. The factory warranty will even cover instances of spontaneous combustion caused by manufacturing defects or collisions, with Xiaomi either compensating for the loss in value or providing a brand-new vehicle.

However, the warranty is expected to apply strictly to non-commercial vehicles. To remain eligible, Skynomad crossover owners will also need to subscribe to a suite of services and have their vehicles serviced exclusively at official dealerships.

Developed in partnership with engineers from CALB and Sunwoda, Dragonscale batteries notably feature an advanced cell-level monitoring system.
