A boy accidentally ordered 70 thousand lollipops while playing on his phone (3 photos)
American Holly LaFavers (Kentucky, USA) discovered that her son Liam had accidentally placed an order for 70,000 lollipops through Amazon. The money had already been debited from her account.
Holly LaFavers told her story on her Facebook page. According to the woman, Liam had accidentally ordered 30 boxes of candies worth $130 each through the Amazon app.
After discovering the error, the woman immediately contacted the company to cancel the order. She was told that she could refuse delivery and then she would get her money back. However, they did not accept returns.
She then wrote on social media, offering to buy the lollipops for $130 a box. The woman also noted that she would be happy to donate the candies to those who donated to the charity.
Thanks to the spread of her post on social media, the company contacted the woman again. Amazon said that she would be refunded for the order.
In a comment to Good Morning America, the woman added that the incident occurred while she was getting ready for church. For some reason, she wanted to check her bank account and discovered that the $4,200 that Amazon had paid for the candies was missing.
Holly LaFavers noted that Liam plays on his phone and occasionally adds items to his Amazon cart. However, this was the first time he had actually placed an order.
"He knows he's not supposed to press the [order] button. It's never happened before," the woman said.
