British Morgan Motor, known for its vintage-style sports cars, has unveiled a new flagship model. The two-seater Supersport replaces the previous Plus Six with a lightweight platform and updated appearance. Prices for the new model in the UK start at the equivalent of $110,000.





The sports car has been transferred to a lighter and more rigid new platform designated CXV. It is mostly made of aluminum, which is also used for the body panels, although ash elements are still used in the body frame. Both the suspension and steering mechanism have been improved. The car weighs only 1,170 kilograms.

The vintage design style is preserved, although the Supersport looks more modern than the Plus Six. This was achieved through different body contours, LED lighting and the rejection of a number of visual details such as individual turn signals. In addition, new bumpers were developed for the Supersport.

The flagship received two roof options at once: a folding soft roof and a removable hard roof. The fixed roof is made of carbon fiber. The interior, as before, is decorated in a retro style with analog instruments, although it has become more spacious and has acquired a number of technological functions such as wireless charging and Sennheiser acoustics. The joystick of the 8-speed ZF gearbox directly speaks of the modern nature of the power plant.

The three-liter turbocharged BMW six-cylinder (B58) develops the same 340 hp and 500 Nm. Nevertheless, the Supersport turned out to be more dynamic than its predecessor due to its reduced weight. The Plus Six took 4.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h, while the new model will do so in 3.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 267 km/h.

Optionally, the Supersport will be offered with adjustable Nitron shock absorbers, a limited-slip differential, and 19-inch forged wheels instead of the standard 18-inch ones. Orders for the sports car are already open, and the first live cars will appear at British dealers in April.
