Limited edition Morgan Midsummer Roadster presented (16 photos)
The British, together with Italian designers from Pininfarina, presented the Morgan Midsummer. The Morgan Plus Six was taken as a basis, for which a new body was designed without a windshield and a very unusual wood interior trim was chosen. The price has not been officially announced, but it will most likely be very high. A total of 50 cars will be produced and they are all already sold out.
The fundamental approach to the styling of the Morgan Plus Six has been preserved. However, the Italians managed to make the appearance of the sports car a little more futuristic: the wings received barely visible edges, the radiator grille was changed, the “tail” was noticeably lengthened, and the optics became frankly modern. In addition, Midsummer is distinguished by a chrome body kit around the perimeter of the body and almost solid 19-inch wheels. Each wheel weighs 3 kg less than standard.
It takes about 250 man-hours to produce new body panels. Another 30 is spent on new interior trim. Wooden interior inserts are made from hundreds of very thin layers of teak wood. It is claimed that this approach ensures durability of the finish. New instruments and a metal trim on the front panel were developed especially for Midsummer.
No changes to the power unit have been reported. Most likely, Midsummer retained the standard unit for the Plus Six - this is a six from BMW with 335 hp. With. in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission. According to some reports, the price of Midsummer will be about 200 thousand pounds, but may vary in one direction or another depending on the wishes of the customer.
