Chinese Hongqi Shows Off a New Electric Car That Looks a Bit Like Tesla (10 photos)
The Chinese premium brand Hongqi has published the first official images of its future electric sedan, which will receive the index 05 and will become the second model from the Tiangong line after the 08 crossover (aka EHS7). The full premiere of the electric car should take place in the coming days. 
Hongqi Tiangong 05 is a production version of the E009 concept, presented in the spring of 2024. The sedan retains the general style of the show car's appearance, but has been noticeably redesigned in detail, apparently to simplify production. For example, the Tiangong 05 has a different front end design with its own lighting and bumper, as well as the standard Hongqi logo, while the concept had illuminated V-shaped Hongqi New Energy symbols.
The interior architecture can only be judged by spy photos, which depict a cabin with a two-spoke steering wheel, a large central display and an unusual multi-layer front panel. It is expected that the Hongqi Tiangong 05 will be deprived of the usual instruments, it will be replaced by a projection on the windshield with a visible diagonal of 65 inches.
The dimensions of the electric car are 4820 × 1915 × 1480 mm with a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. The four-door is certified only in the rear-wheel drive version with one 286 horsepower motor and a CATL lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The electric car will be able to travel 550 or 750 km without recharging, accelerating to 200 km/h. Other technical details will most likely appear as part of the official debut.
