Harrison Ford's character appeared in it in the second film of the franchise - "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984).
At the Propstore auction in Los Angeles, the title character's hat from Steven Spielberg's film "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984) was sold for $630,000. This was reported on the auction house's website.
The brown felt hat was made by the London-based Herbert Johnson Hat Company specifically for the filming of the second part of the franchise. The fictitious owner's initials, IJ, are embroidered in gold letters on the lining of the hat.
Harrison Ford's character appears in this hat in the opening scenes of the film. The hero and his companions, fleeing from the Chinese mafia, are forced to jump out of an airplane that has lost control.
In addition to Ford himself, the hat was worn by Dean Ferrandini, the actor's stunt double. Moreover, the hat belonged to a stuntman, but after his death in 2023, the family decided to sell it.
Experts valued the hat at $250,000–500,000, but it was ultimately sold for more. The identity of the buyer is not disclosed.
