Law enforcement officers have to wait several months for uniforms. The shortage of summer pants is especially acute. 
The Bavarian police union published a comic video in which it tried to draw the attention of the authorities to serious problems. In the video, two police officers discuss the problem with the delay in uniform deliveries, and then get out of their official car and it turns out that they are not wearing pants.
The publication Die Welt writes that police officers have to wait several months for uniforms, and this also applies to new law enforcement officers. The situation is most acute with trousers; it has reached the point that the police do not have summer trousers, which is why management allowed them to wear “other types of trousers”.
“The Bavarian police are literally walking around naked. Since 2020, we hardly talk about the quality of official clothing, only about problems with the availability of uniforms,” said Jürgen Kaenlein, chairman of the Bavarian State Association of German Police Trade Unions (DPolG).

It is reported that problems with uniforms among Bavarian police officers began in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now logistics problems are associated with disruption of supply chains due to conflict in an Eastern European country.
The Bavarian Ministry of Internal Affairs, meanwhile, states that lately, delays in the delivery of individual items of official clothing have been significantly reduced. However, the head of the Bavarian police union demands “not just dealing with the deficit, but quickly correcting this situation.” The Ministry of Internal Affairs promised to solve the problem. Now the uniforms are delivered from the logistics center of another federal state - Lower Saxony. By 2030, they promise to build their own warehouse in the Bavarian city of Hof.
