Audi introduced the electric crossover Q6 e-tron (23 photos)
The Audi Q6 e-tron can be considered as an electric alternative to the successful Q5 SUV with an internal combustion engine. The new product will complement the brand’s line of electric SUVs, occupying a place between the already Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron. At the same time, it is technically more advanced, since the Q6 e-tron uses the 800-volt scalable Audi Premium Platform Electric (PPE).
Compared to the electric Macan, which also uses PPE architecture, the Q6 e-tron is made simpler: there are no steering rear wheels and less powerful motors are installed. But in any case, among the advantages of PPE, in addition to maximizing the parameters of the electric power plant, is its focus on high driving dynamics due to better weight distribution and more precise handling.
The basic version of the car with a single engine on the rear axle will debut later, as well as the Sportback modification. In the meantime, Audi has presented the most popular all-wheel drive Q6 e-tron quattro and SQ6 e-tron with a cabin for 5 people and a full luggage compartment of 526 liters (1529 liters with the rear backrests folded).
The total output of the Q6 e-tron engines for the European market is 387 hp. s., for the SQ6 e-tron - 516 hp. s., which allows cars to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 and 4.3 seconds, respectively. Top speed is stated at 210 km/h for the Q6 e-tron and 230 km/h for the SQ6 e-tron. The 100 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of up to 625 km. Using express charging, the process of recharging the traction battery from 10 to 80% will take 21 minutes, and a 10-minute stop at an electric filling station is enough for a trip with a range of 255 km.
The souped-up SQ6 e-tron comes standard with adaptive air suspension, which can be ordered at an additional cost for the regular Q6. Wheel sizes vary from 19 to 21 inches. The weight of the towed trailer is limited to 2 tons.
The presence of PPE implies advanced technologies in the field of automotive electronics and connection to the Network by default for regular software updates. A built-in assistant with artificial intelligence and an avatar for ease of communication not only manages the on-board operating system based on Android, but also analyzes the driver’s actions, adapting to him and gaining experience as he operates.
Taking into account the premium class, the Audi Q6 e-tron also has Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, which relies on external sensors, high-resolution mapping and cloud data received from other Audis to make driving safer. Alas, it comes as an option, for which you will most likely have to pay after purchasing the car.
Other interior equipment includes a head-up display with navigation and augmented reality, which displays information on the windshield about road objects 200 meters ahead along the course, ambient lighting and a hi-end Bang & Olufsen audio system with a power of 830 W.
The Audi Q6 e-tron will be produced at the main plant in Ingolstadt. Prices are known: from 74,700 euros for the Q6 e-tron quattro and from 93,800 euros for the SQ6 e-tron - with the start of shipments to customers in the third quarter of 2024.
