Audi Quattro turned into a caterpillar SUV (5 photos)

Atelier Quattromog presented the result of their work on rebuilding an old 1990 Audi Quattro into a full-fledged caterpillar all-terrain vehicle.





Atelier owner Kirk Kunz calls his work "the most strangest Audi in the world" and "a new incarnation of the Quattro" as his atelier Quattromog mainly specializes in giving older cars Audi new off-road capabilities. Pinnacle chosen by Kirk direction was an SUV built by him on the basis of his own car.



The idea to put the Quattro on the tracks came to Kirk quite a long time ago, and initially he wanted to design the tracks himself. However, later I came to the conclusion that it is much easier to find ready-made solution, especially since over time more and more and more such devices.





In search of additional inspiration, Kunz returned to his Audi Quattro, with which he had already worked before. Through his efforts the three-door received, for example, an upgraded engine and ground clearance increased by 150 millimeters. 3 years ago Kirk sold the car, but for the sake of a new project, he found a new owner and bought Quattro back.



Kunz used ready-made Camso 4S1 tracks, but for installation they had to be modified for an older car. Kirk, for example, redid hub and added some other components. According to him, the studio Qattromog has a metalworking workshop, so the manufacture of new parts did not cause any problems - it was only necessary invent them. As far as can be judged from the photo, the SUV is additionally equipped with a snorkel, power bumpers and an expeditionary trunk with optics.

The first ride of the Audi Quattro snowmobile took place on one of local ski slopes. Like Kirk said, it was very funny watch the confused skiers.
