The rally version of the Audi R8 was put up for auction (35 photos + 2 videos)
At the American auction Bring a Trailer, bidding is underway for the Audi R8 supercar, converted for off-road driving. The project was implemented by Adrenalin Industries. The auction is due to end today and is currently being offered for the car at $50,000.
The coupe sits on white 18-inch Braid wheels with Falken Wildpeak off-road tires measuring 225/50. In order for them to fit into the arches, the car was given a suspension lift of 50 millimeters (the ground clearance for a regular R8 is 110 mm). In addition, reinforced Bilstein shock absorbers and cross-drilled brake discs are installed.
The rear bumper has been removed, an “expeditionary” trunk has appeared on the roof, and an arch with four spotlights has appeared in front. A custom exhaust system and contrasting white painted doors, hood and trunk lid complete the look.
The power plant remained standard. The V8 4.2 engine develops 430 horsepower and drives all four wheels through a 7-speed gearbox. K&N tuning air filters and rewritten control unit software are designed to add some power to it.
The interior is absolutely standard. The 2018 coupe has covered 90 thousand kilometers. Before selling it, it was serviced.
The Audi R8 will not receive a continuation in the form of a third generation. At least with a gasoline engine. The Germans promise to release a model of a similar class and concept. But this supercar will be electric.
