Rescue candidates were almost killed by an avalanche (2 photos + 1 video)
The incident occurred in Slovakia, in the High Tatras.
The High Tatras are the highest part of the Carpathian mountain range; it is located on the territory of Slovakia and has always attracted extreme sports enthusiasts. And no wonder, 9 mountain peaks of the High Tatras have a height of more than 2 thousand meters, the top three have even surpassed the threshold of 2.5 thousand.
There are picturesque lakes, protected parks and ski resorts.
And if you really want to suffocate, then there are also two astronomical observatories of Slovakia: the Skalnate Pleso Observatory and the Lomnicky Štit Observatory. This has nothing to do with our history, but still.
Naturally, where there are extreme sports enthusiasts, you cannot live without rescuers. Last year alone, 56 people died in these mountains.
For training to be more effective, it must be carried out in conditions as close to real as possible.
But this time the usual training of schoolchildren who plan to become real rescuers almost ended in tragedy. And the human factor was to blame. Just as the group was preparing to climb the mountain slope, a controlled avalanche occurred.
A mass of snow fell on the guys and their leaders. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but the footage is quite frightening.
At the moment, it is being clarified how the rescue candidates ended up in the area where emergency services were working to prevent avalanches.
