In Istanbul, Turkey, a man working as a cleaner in a dental clinic posed as a doctor and removed a patient's front teeth without medical indications. Oddity Central reports.
Cemal Senaslan pretended to be a dentist when he answered a call from 42-year-old patient Hakan Yildirim. The man complained of severe toothache and wanted to make an urgent appointment. The cleaner invited the man to a medical facility and examined him that evening, posing as a specialist.
After a quick examination, Shenaslan stated that the patient needed four front teeth removed. When Yildirim doubted the need for such radical treatment, the cleaner became angry and asked not to teach him how to work. He also noted that he teaches at a dental university.
The cleaner convinced the patient to have his teeth removed, claiming that he would have implants installed in their place later, and proceeded with the surgical operation. For the painful procedure, Shenaslan demanded that he be paid one thousand Turkish liras. After this, the cleaner gave Yildirim a prescription and sent him to the pharmacy. When the patient gave the prescription to the pharmacist, he stated that it was not stamped.
The next day, Yildirim began to suffer from severe pain and returned to the clinic. He talked to one of the dentists and said that Shenaslan had operated on him. At this point, the patient learned that the man actually works as a cleaner and has no medical education.
Yildirim's condition deteriorated sharply: his face was swollen and bruises appeared under his eyes. He ended up in the emergency room. It is noted that the pain that the patient constantly experienced became tolerable only after a month.
"Dentist" and his patient
The victim filed a lawsuit against Shenaslan. According to Yildirim's lawyer, the cleaner caused him both physical and psychological trauma. A cleaner was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for performing dental services without training. In addition, he was ordered to pay compensation to Yildirim for the injury caused.
