Do photographs really depict spirits and ghosts “captured” by film, often invisible to the naked eye? There is no clear answer to this question, either from a scientific point of view or from any other. Often such photographs are a deliberate fake, often our carelessness and inattention: poorly washed film, a camera strap caught in the frame, dust on the lens, smoke and dust in the air, a smoking cigarette in the hand during shooting, refracted and scattered rays of light and etc. But sometimes no examination can either refute or explain the effect obtained in a photograph.
