Scaled-Down Porsche 550 Spyder Valued at $95,000 (8 Photos)

UK-based Hedley Studios, in collaboration with Porsche, has unveiled the collectible Porsche 550 J to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport. It is an officially licensed, roughly 80-percent scale electric reimagining of the iconic 1950s Porsche 550 Spyder. Pricing starts at £69,500—approximately $95,000 at current exchange rates.





Designed strictly for collectors, the Porsche 550 J is not street-legal. Production will be capped at just 250 units. Measuring roughly 2.9 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, the cabin seats two. Built on a steel tubular spaceframe with a carbon-fiber body, it tips the scales at around 330 kilograms.

Powering the 550 J is a fully electric 48-volt powertrain. The base motor develops 11 hp, while the optional RS package boosts output to 22 hp. In RS trim, top speed reaches 80 km/h with an estimated driving range of 80 kilometers.

During development, Porsche granted Hedley Studios full access to its archives and original blueprints. Over 1,300 custom components were created for the project. Modern hardware includes adjustable suspension, Eibach springs, and Brembo brakes.

Every unit will be handcrafted. Buyers can choose from an extensive bespoke program featuring historic and contemporary Porsche paint shades, racing liveries, and custom color matching. Orders are now open, with initial deliveries scheduled for spring 2027.
