Chinese Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Unveils Three Electric Cars (15 photos)
The powertrains of two of them develop almost 2,000 horsepower.
The Chinese company Dreame Technology, known as a vacuum cleaner maker, made a name for itself in the automotive world this fall by releasing several renderings and declaring its intention to become an automaker. The concepts shown in the images caused a stir, as they clearly borrowed designs from other companies. In particular, the brand's first supercar looked like a four-door Bugatti.
At the CES exhibition in Las Vegas, Dreame presented not one electric car, but three, under two different brands: Nebula and Kosmera.
The concept car, branded Nebula, is called the Next 01. Its design evokes associations with the latest flagship Ferraris, though hints of Bugatti are also retained. These references include the Brouillard coupe. The supercar, however, is a four-door car, and its powertrain, according to Dreame, produces over 1,900 horsepower and consists of four electric motors. The claimed acceleration time to 100 km/h is 1.8 seconds. The Next 01 will also be equipped with a system that briefly boosts power by 30%.
The other two electric cars represent the Kosmera brand. They don't have names yet, but Chinese media speculate that these cars will hit the assembly line before the Next 01.
The first Kosmera model appears to have been inspired by the very same four-door Bugatti design, as hinted by the front end with its distinctive horseshoe-shaped grille, while the profile hints at a Porsche. According to Autohome, it will receive the same 1,903-horsepower powertrain, will feature active suspension, and Dreame plans to 3D-print some body components.
The second Kosmera also bears a slight resemblance to the Bugatti, but from the side and rear, where an adapted signature C-shaped element and a double-pane trunk lid are visible. No technical specifications are provided.
