Unusual bridge in the Netherlands
In the Dutch city of Leeuwarden, you can find a "flying" bridge. When a ship approaches, a 15x15-meter section of the road rises into the sky. Then, the road returns to its original position.
The bridge was built in 2000 and is designed to carry vehicles across the Harlingerwaart River.
Residents have nicknamed the structure the "flying drawbridge" or the "frog bridge," as the structure resembles a frog when the drawbridge is lowered.
When it's time to let a ship pass, the road doesn't open up, but rather rises smoothly vertically, like a giant elevator. This solution not only saves space but also creates a truly memorable local landmark. The sight of a section of highway hovering in the air is both surreal and logical.
