In Scandinavia, parents deliberately make their children freeze
In Scandinavia, parents leave their children outside during the freezing winter. It's part of a tradition called friluftsliv, meaning "living outdoors." Parents believe that fresh air, especially frosty air, helps children sleep longer, increases their resilience, and keeps them healthy by reducing the number of germs indoors.
And with crime rates low and trust high, it's perfectly normal to see strollers parked outside cafes with sleeping babies inside.
