The Chinese have released the long-range "electric train" Wuling Bingo S for under $10,000 (5 photos)
A new model with a range of up to 430 kilometers will compete for buyers with Geely's bestseller.
The Chinese joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched the Wuling Binguo S (aka Bingo S), a subcompact electric crossover hatchback, on the domestic market. The new model is offered in four dual-battery versions, priced from 66,800 to 79,800 yuan. The Geely Xingyuan, which, according to the local automobile manufacturers' association, was the absolute best-selling car in China in the first half of 2025, is currently priced between 68,800 and 97,800 yuan.
The Bingo S is the third member of the family, which also includes the base 3.95-meter Bingo city car and the 4-meter Bingo Plus crossover. The S model shares a 2,610 mm wheelbase with the Bingo Plus, but is larger in exterior dimensions: 4,265 x 1,785 x 1,600 mm. The new model has seating for five, and with the rear seat folded, the trunk holds up to 1,450 liters.
The Wuling Bingo S is equipped with a single 102 hp electric motor. and 180 Nm, driving the front wheels. It features two batteries—31.9 and 41.9 kilowatt-hours. According to China's CLTC cycle, the range with these batteries is 325 and 430 kilometers, respectively. The competing Geely Xingyuan has a similar range, with a claimed range of 310–410 kilometers.
The Bingo S's standard equipment includes an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for multiple smartphone integration protocols, 50-watt wireless charging for gadgets, and cupholders. The cabin also features 25 different compartments and storage cubbies for small items.
