A dark-skinned comedian attended a race in the guise of a white redneck
African-American comedian Druski came to a NASCAR race in denim overalls, a hat, and white redneck makeup. He met visitors, sang the song "Born in the USA," and asked provocative questions to black people. Tropic Thunder in reverse.
30-year-old comedian Andrew Desbord attended a NASCAR race in realistic white redneck makeup: in addition to his face, he painted his arms and torso a light shade, even adding a sunburn. He completed his look with a haircut, beard, cowboy hat, and overalls without a shirt, under which tattoos with the American flag were visible.
At the competition itself, no one realized that he was African-American, but there was a stir on the Internet.
Later, he posted a video from the race on his X page - the video has collected more than 220 million views. In the video, the comedian hangs out with white Americans, sings "Born in the USA" and deliberately communicates with everyone with a southern accent.
Opinions on social media about his actions are divided: some find it funny, others don't, and the rest believe that now everyone has every right to do "blackface."
