A biblical secret has been revealed: a 5,500-year-old workshop has been discovered in Israel (6 photos + 1 video)
The ruins of an ancient blade-making workshop may be evidence of the existence of the Canaanites, a people often mentioned in the Bible. Archaeologists in Kiryat Gat, 40 miles from Tel Aviv, have found the first Canaanite site in the region. It contains long flint blades and massive stones used to shape and shape weapons.
Researchers have found hundreds of underground pits, partly lined with clay bricks. These structures were used as warehouses, dwellings, workshops, and even rituals.
This place is striking in its scale and thoughtfulness. The Canaanites created settlements here, specialized in crafts and developed trade networks.
The Bible describes the Canaanites as the first inhabitants of the Promised Land before the arrival of the Israelites and the conquest of this territory.
Experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) believe that the find helps to understand how cities emerged and how professions were formed in the ancient land.
The IAA reported on the most impressive finds - large flint rods from which blades were made. The items were used as butcher knives and harvesting tools, such as sickles.
"The manufacturing technology was extremely advanced and involved using a kind of tap to apply precise pressure to the flint."
Dr Jacob Vardy, a prehistorian at the IAA, said: "This is a sophisticated industry. The waste and rubbish were not scattered outside the site. This may have been done to protect and preserve the craftsmen's expertise. The site served as a hub from which Canaanite blades were distributed across large parts of the Levant."
In the Early Bronze Age, people used tools made from natural materials such as flint, bone, stone and ceramics.
"We have found evidence of an advanced industry that required a great deal of knowledge," said Dr Vardy. — This is clear evidence that already at the beginning of the Bronze Age, the local society was organized and complex, with developed professional specialization."

Archaeologists have found that the tools found correspond to the time of Abraham. We are talking about the Middle Bronze Age, which lasted from about 2100 to 1900 BC.
A key figure in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, Abraham is known in the Bible for his unwavering faith in God and his covenant to establish a new nation in the land of Canaan. Moses, described in Scripture as a descendant of Abraham, later led the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land, which was originally the home of the Canaanites.

The Canaanites are mentioned several times in the Old Testament, including the books of Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Joshua.
In Joshua 3:10, God tells the Israelites that he will drive out the Canaanites before they reach the Promised Land.
The Israelites fought the Canaanites and eventually captured much of their territory. This conquest took place in the second half of the 13th century BCE.
