Fox steals over 30 pairs of shoes from tourists in US national park (2 photos + 1 video)
Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming (USA) is known for its majestic mountain views, rich flora and fauna. Recently, this list of attractions has been expanded. As it turned out, at least one cunning fox lives in the park, stealthily taking off tourists' shoes.
At the end of June 2025, the Grand Teton Park administration posted posters near the campground on the park territory with an image of a fox holding a sneaker in its mouth. The accompanying text said:
"Wanted for theft of shoes on an especially large scale. Crimes committed: stealing left shoes (they taste better), flip-flops and tourists' self-respect; disturbing public peace and the integrity of couples."
It was also reported that the criminal has 19 episodes on her account, the last time she was seen running away with a sneaker in her teeth, without a shadow of remorse.

Under the ad, a poster was placed with a field for counting the days since the last loss (where they wrote "zero") and an appeal not to leave shoes outside, but to put them in tents or vans.
Recently, the situation took an unexpected turn: by mid-July, the number of stolen shoes from tourists jumped to 32. From a video published on the Grand Teton social media page, it became known that this was largely the result of provocations by the travelers themselves.
In a half-joking video, the park management complained that the announcement of the furry thief awakened a desire for "sacrifice" in vacationers. Instead of hiding shoes, people began to actively leave them outside - so that the fox would have something to profit from if it suddenly appeared.
