Xiaomi presented its first electric crossover - YU7 (15 photos + 1 video)
The Chinese company Xiaomi has completely declassified its second model — the YU7 crossover, which will become a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. The electric car received several powertrain options: its longest-range modification will travel up to 835 km, and the fastest will accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds.
With dimensions of 4999×1996×1600 mm and a 3-meter wheelbase, the YU7 is slightly larger than the Model Y. The trunk volume of the electric car ranges from 678 to 1758 liters, plus 141 liters “under the hood”. The suspension is promised to have adaptive shock absorbers and air springs, which will allow you to vary the ground clearance. Its declared maximum is 222 mm.
The basic modification of the YU7 is one electric motor with 320 hp and 528 Nm with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 96.3 kW⋅h. With a power reserve of 835 km according to the CLTC cycle, this YU7 has become the longest-range in the family. It will reach a hundred in 5.88 seconds with a maximum speed of 240 km/ h. The YU7 Pro will receive the same battery, but there will be two motors: 496 hp and 690 Nm in total. Accordingly, the acceleration time to 100 km/h will be reduced to 4.27 seconds, and the power reserve will decrease to 770 km.
The top modification of the YU7 Max stands out not only for its nickel-manganese-cobalt battery of 101.7 kW⋅h, but also for the output of the motors, increased to 691 hp and 866 Nm. In order to exchange a hundred, the electric car will need only 3.23 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 253 km/h, but this version turned out to be the least long-range. Despite the large battery, the electric car will travel no more than 760 km without recharging.
According to Lei Jun, if the YU7 is comparable in dynamics to the Model Y, then it significantly surpasses its competitor in terms of the power reserve indicator, which is more important for the consumer. In addition, the Chinese crossover charges faster: its battery can collect enough electricity to travel 620 km in just 15 minutes.
The YU7 looks like the SU7 sedan, but has more sophisticated aerodynamics, which are improved by several dozen different channels and air ducts. The final drag coefficient is 0.245.
The interior architecture of the crossover also turned out to be more advanced. The most notable innovation is the HyperVision projection display, obviously copied from BMW. It is located at the bottom of the windshield, has a length of 1.1 meters and is capable of displaying a variety of dаta: from powertrain and navigation system indicators to media content. The main purpose of the display is to serve as a dashboard, but it can also work as a screen for the passenger. The diagonal of the traditional central touchscreen is 16.1 inches.
The seats trimmed in nappa leather will be equipped with heating, ventilation and massage. The front seats can be folded into a resting position, the back of the rear sofa can be folded at an angle of up to 135 degrees. Rear passengers are provided with their own media screens, as well as a touch panel for controlling additional functions.
Finally, YU7 will also receive a set of driver assistants based on the latest Nvidia chip with a performance of 700 TOPS. Xiaomi said that this is the most powerful device on the market. It will be assisted by a lidar, 12 radars and 11 high-definition cameras.
Estimated price from ¥250 000.
