A video has been circulated on social media showing a police car crashing into a Volkswagen crossover and then fleeing the scene. The police said they had ordered an internal investigation. As reported by Censor.NET, the accident was reported on the Telegram channel "Kyiv Operative".
It is noted that the incident occurred at the entrance to Kyiv from Boryspil on February 27.
The circulated video shows how the police car seems to skid on a turn and crashes into a Volkswagen that is driving in front. Then the law enforcement officers turn on their flashing lights and leave the scene.
The police responded and reported that they had ordered an internal investigation into this incident, and the officer who was driving the car was suspended from his official duties.
In addition, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the law enforcement officer under Article 124 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine, that is, for violating traffic rules that resulted in damage to vehicles.
This is punishable by a fine of 850 hryvnia or deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months to one year.
