McDonald's is curtailing its inclusivity policy and canceling target "diversity indicators" (4 photos)

Previously, Walmart, Ford Motor, Tractor Supply and other giants of American business refused to support DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies.





After D. Trump's victory in the presidential election, many companies are beginning to reconsider their attitude to inclusivity and equality. The last bastions are falling. For example, McDonald's recently announced a revision of its views on DEI - this was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).



The company said it was proud of the results it had achieved so far: for example, by 2025, 30% of the company's management positions would be occupied by women and other groups (including sexual minorities) that had previously been underrepresented. McDonald's also transferred a quarter of its total payments to suppliers who had achieved the required diversity indicators (the quality of the products was not reported).





However, the company will no longer set new goals in the DEI area, although it will continue to publish information on diversity indicators in the ranks of employees.



American business is frankly tired of inclusivity policies. Dozens of the largest American companies have abandoned them, including Ford, Lowe's, John Deere and Harley Davidson. Their target audience is conservative or moderate segments of society who have begun to boycott their once-beloved products. After holding out for some time, the companies began to lose profits, and some brands even faced the prospect of closing their businesses. The reluctance to lose the traditional market outweighed the desire to be fashionable and progressive - as a result, many business giants rolled back their inclusive policies.
