3 brand new Tesla cars forgotten in a container sell for $ 2 million (11 photos)
Three brand new Teslas that were in the sea containers on the Chinese wharf since 2010, are about to be sold for record amount.
Roadsters were recently discovered in the city of Quindao, as the buyer did not pick them up.
They were reportedly ordered by a Chinese beginner electric vehicle company that went bankrupt before than she was able to lay claim to them, presumably for reengineering vehicles to help develop their products.
They are sold by the Gruber Motor Company, specializing in Tesla, based in Phoenix, and accepting applications.
The collection includes a roadster with orange base trim and two sports roadster in orange and red.
Their batteries were “bricked” and no longer work due to the fact that they have not been used and charged for so long, but in the rest of the cars are in their original factory condition.
The roadster was built from 2008 to 2012, and in 2010 the starting base models were priced at $109,000, while sport models were $128,000 in the US.
Gruber Motor has now received confirmed application of $2 million for all three car and extended the submission deadline in anticipation of better offers.
Cars are sent to Dubai, which is expected to take two to three weeks, where potential buyers will be able to personally familiarize themselves with them if the final proposal is not accepted by that time.
If the sale takes place, the cost of each of the cars will be $666,666, which will negate the record price, which, known to have been paid for the Tesla Roadster.
It currently stands at $250,000, precisely for this is how much Gruber Motor Company sold the 13th roadster built in February 2022.
