War with monkeys in the Thai city of Lopburi (2 photos)

A photo has gone viral on the Internet showing a schoolgirl from the Thai city of Lopburi walking home with a real gun! She needs it to protect herself from bandits. But not from people, but from aggressive monkeys that are literally at war with Thailand. The authorities have been unable to cope with this problem since April. Armies of evil macaques even manage to take away people's weapons! The situation is funny, but local residents are not laughing. Yeah... crazy times...
