“Screams and moans get in the way”: in Britain they want to organize a major sex festival, but the locals are against it (3 photos)
The four-day festival will take place in the village of Allington, with tents, dance poles, beds and sex toys set up for guests. The police wanted to ban the event due to its unethical nature, but officials supported the initiative and even gave swing fans advice on how to have a better time.
Thousands of swing lovers flocked to Britain's largest four-day sex festival, Swingathon. The event will take place in the village of Allington, Lincolnshire, in eastern England, reports the British tabloid Daily Mirror.
The festival will be held in fields hidden from prying eyes. Organizer Matthew Cole, 35, promises this year's Swingathon will be bigger, bolder and better than ever. Tents, dance poles, beds, sex toys and even underground places have already been equipped for guests.
“More tickets have been sold than ever. The event will be even better than I think,” he explains with confidence.
Bartender John Roberts, who works at the only pub in the village, notes that everyone is talking about the “swingers convention”. It is noteworthy that during previous meetings none of them were seen or heard. However, some residents of neighboring villages are still afraid that a “daring company” will come to visit them.
One Allington village resident anonymously said he found the festival "a bit funny and mind-boggling".
"As long as the swingers don't come and force their antics on us, they will be welcome guests. We don't mind their company, but some of us may find the event 'shocking,'" he said.
"Screams and groans are disturbing"
The Daily Mail tabloid adds that on previous occasions, local residents contacted the police because they were kept awake at night by “screams and groans” coming from the suburban area.”
“I’ve already heard about complaints about noise, it’s not the kind of noise you want to hear when you’re trying to sleep. To be honest, it all looks a little shabby, not to my taste,” shared his impressions of someone living near the festival site.
Over the past year, the number of Swingathon participants has reportedly increased from 500 to 1,000. The event will also feature performances by several bands, DJs, dancers and comedians. Ticket costs $342.
Lincolnshire Police opposed the festival, citing the need to prevent crime and disorder, ensure public safety, prevent public order and protect children.
However, the authorities considered the warnings unnecessary. Cole said some officials were even giving swing fans advice on how to best host the event in 2024.
