For $500 thousand, space tourists will be fed dinner from a Danish chef (4 photos)
SpaceVIP has announced a six-hour flight in the stratosphere and a dinner for six people 30 kilometers above sea level. The guests will be fed by the chef of the two-Michelin restaurant, 32-year-old Dane Rasmus Munk. Ratatouille, like a premonition...
Gastronomic tourism is moving into space. Wealthy food and space lovers will soon be able to enjoy gourmet meals in the stratosphere. Of course, the pleasure is available only to those who are willing to pay almost 500 thousand dollars for a ticket.
Despite the high price, there is no end to those interested, reports Bloomberg. Less than 24 hours after the advertising campaign began, organizers began receiving calls from interested people asking where they could register. The number of potential tourists has already exceeded the number of seats in the high-tech sealed capsule several times.
The menu for the “space restaurant” promises something unusual. To do this, luxury space travel company SpaceVIP hired a Danish chef from a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Rasmus Munch will compose it for six lucky people who will be lifted to a height of 30 kilometers. Here they'll dine while watching the sun rise over the curve of the Earth, and onboard Wi-Fi will allow them to stream live to friends back home.
The flight will last six hours on a high-tech space balloon, the first launch of which is scheduled for next year. It is noted that such a lift does not require special training or equipment. The Space Perspectives spacecraft will rise into the stratosphere using a balloon.
By the way, SpaceVIP is not the first to offer its clients dinner in the stratosphere. Previously, a similar release was released by the French company Zephalto. The report says that from 2025, a dinner in the stratosphere can be afforded for no less than $132,000.
The plan is to offer as many tours as possible over time and eventually lower prices to allow more people to enjoy the experience.
