Navalny's funeral, Moscow

In Moscow, Russia, opposition leader Alexei Navalny was buried at the Borisov cemetery, media reports.

The funeral service in the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Quench My Sorrows” in Maryino passed very quickly.

Quite a lot of people came to bid him farewell; an impressive queue formed at the Brateevsky Bridge on the way to the cemetery. People applauded and chanted: “Glory to the heroes!”, “No to war!”, “Ukrainians are good people.”

Since Navalny considered Terminator 2 the best film on earth, music from the final scene was played at his funeral. And the coffin was lowered into the grave to the song “My Way” by Frank Sinatra.

After the funeral ended, people continued to lay flowers on Navalny's fresh grave.
