A sports car created by a Ukrainian in 1954 will be sold for $900,000 (5 photos)
A rare 1954 Pegaso Z-102 is up for auction in the US at Broad Arrow. For the vintage sports car, they plan to fetch from 750,000 to 900,000 dollars. Focus writes about it.
The Spanish company Pegaso is better known for trucks and buses, but also produced sports cars. The Z-102 is one of the fastest cars of the early 1950s.
In total, only 84 Pegaso Z-102 coupes and cabriolets were produced. They were equipped with V8 engines with power from 175 to 360 hp, and the top version developed 243 km/h.
This particular Pegaso Z-102 is one of only 18 cars with bodies from the French atelier Saoutchik. Its founder is a native of Ukraine, Yakiv Savchyk, who emigrated to France as a child and opened a body shop in the suburbs of Paris.
Yakov Savchyk's works have always been distinguished by bold avant-garde design. The Pegaso Z-102 has a very long hood, large headlights and a curved roof. It is this sports car equipped with a 2.8-liter eight with 195 hp. and can accelerate up to 200 km/h.
The Pegaso Z-102 has been restored and looks great. The sports car has repeatedly won awards at various retro festivals.
