In the Netherlands, released a small electric roadster in retro style (8 photos)
The Dutch company Carice Cars showed its new model car is the TC2 electric roadster, which weighs only 630 kg and can travel more than 300 km on a single charge.
Carice Cars was founded by mechanical engineer Richard Holleman, its name is a kind of fusion of the words "car" (Car) and "Richard" (Richard), that is, "Richard's car." In 2013, Carice Cars introduced its first model, the Carice MK1 electric roadster with plastic body on a steel frame and design in the spirit of the Porsche 356 Speedster.
Carice MK1 weighed about 350 kg and was offered with several electric motor options (from 5 to 54 hp) at a price of 26,620 euros. How many copies of the MK1 were made is unknown - in 2017 the company disappeared from the radar and stopped keeping accounts in social networks, but the other day came back to life with a new model - Carice TC2.
Carice TC2 is essentially a completely reimagined MK1 with more modern technology and a more stylish body, which nevertheless less also reminiscent of the Porsche 356 Speedster. Still in design plastic is widely used, but the curb weight has grown to 630 kg.
The official premiere of Carice TC2 will take place next Saturday May 13, but the Dutch magazine AutoWeek has already reported that the new roadster will receive a battery with a capacity of 31.5 kWh, the full charge of which will last more than than 300 km. Peak motor power - 40 kW (54 hp).
The interior compared to that of the MK1 has become noticeably neater and nobler. Much more leather is now used in the decoration, there were full-fledged door cards with pockets for things and more comfortable chairs. Around the dashboard fixed in the center front panel, control lamps and toggle switches are scattered (including responsible for the modes of the power plant), but there is no multimedia screen system and microclimate unit, although in case of rain there is a folding fabric roof.
Despite its simplicity and asceticism, Carice TC2 is worth a lot - from 53,854 euros (including taxes), while the entire opening game already sold out, so new customers will have to line up and wait a few months. Carice TC2 will be produced in-house the company's small factory in Voorhout.
