New supercar in retro style from the creator of McLaren (9 photos)

British Nichols Cars introduced its first supercar N1A, inspired by the famous McLaren M1A racing car sample 1963. The supercar was developed under the leadership of the head of the company Steve Nichols, a native of McLaren. He also as an engineer collaborated with the Ferrari, Jordan and Sauber formula teams and is known as a pioneer in the use of carbon fiber in the construction of Formula 1 cars.





Carbon fiber body Nichols N1A is made in vintage style and "put on" an aluminum chassis with double wishbone suspension. Power steering and ABS are installed on a supercar only by order.

The roadster is driven by its own engine developed by Nichols Cars. The motor is based on the General Motors block, has capacity of 7 liters and a dry sump lubrication system, as well as a number of custom components. It develops 650 hp, while the supercar itself weighs about 900 kilograms. The engine is powered by a six-speed manual box, but two-pedal versions of the N1A will be available as an option.

In total, the company plans to release only 100 of these roadsters. The first 15 copies will be dedicated to the racing victories of the famous car McLaren MP4/ 4 season 1988, which is considered one of the most successful Formula 1 cars. In its development, the head of the company, Steve Nichols was directly involved, and piloted the car Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.

More affordable Nichols N1A modifications will appear later with serial V8 from Chevrolet for 466 or 527 hp Prices have not yet been named.
