1. The Scots have more than 400 synonyms for the word “snow”



The University of Glasgow has recorded 421 words used to describe snow. The dictionary, for example, contains words such as flindrikin (“light snowfall”), spitters (“small drops” or “snowflakes during rain or snowfall accompanied by gusts of wind”), feuchter (“lightly whirling snow”) and blin- drift (“blizzard”).

2. Rabbit Attack on Napoleon





In 1807, Napoleon Bonaparte decided to celebrate the Peace of Tilsit by hunting. He instructed his servants to collect dozens of wild rabbits. When the signal sounded to signal the start of the hunt, something truly strange happened: the rabbits, instead of running as they usually do, formed a pack and attacked the nearest person, who turned out to be Bonaparte, forcing him to flee in despair.

3. An ostrich's eyes are bigger than its brain.
