A hot rod based on a military Humvee will be put up for auction (14 photos)

The Barrett-Jackson auction at the end of January will try to sell one of the strangest custom vehicles based on the 2009 military Humvee from AM General. Instead of pushing its off-road capabilities to the limit, Danton Art Kustoms created an apocalyptic hot rod with an engine producing over 700 horsepower. Despite six wheels and three axles, this monster is rear-wheel drive only.





As far as can be understood from the auction description, only the body was borrowed from a military SUV, subjecting it to noticeable alterations: the rear part was shortened, although the customizers retained the side doors, and the roof was noticeably lowered.

The body is based on a specially developed chassis with three axles. The front has 20-inch wheels, the rear has 24-inch wheels with 305/35 tires. The motor is located behind the cabin, inside the power cage. This is a 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat, developing 717 horsepower and mated to an automatic transmission that drives only one pair of wheels—the strange hot rod lacks all-wheel drive.

The “supercar” was decorated with a new front bumper, a kind of diffuser at the rear and a giant wing. It is alleged that parts from a real aircraft wing were used to make it. In keeping with the image, the hot rod was painted a military shade of green. What makes the project unique is the ability to remotely control a number of functions. You can, for example, start the engine, turn on the lighting and sound signal directly from your smartphone.

Exactly how much it is planned to earn for the exotic is not specified.
