Fiat 500 turned into a Batmobile and put up for sale (8 photos)
An unusual 1948 Fiat 500 Topolino, described as a "tribute to superheroes", is up for sale at Streetside Classics. After a deep restructuring, the budget hatch not only acquired an 8.2-liter V8, but also began to resemble the Batmobile. The unique custom was priced at $55,995. 
The seller does not specify which custom parts were retained from the 75-year-old Fiat, but it is known that the body is not one of them. The custom's lines are styled to match the Topolino's exterior, but are made of fiberglass, and the cockpit hood tilts back in one piece in the style of professional dragsters. In the cabin there is only one seat made of metal, surrounded by sports instruments, toggle switches for controlling units, a rear view camera display and air conditioning. The steering wheel is removable.
Near the middle of the chassis sits an exposed GM big-block V8 that displaces more than 8 liters. The power unit has clearly been modified, judging by the abundance of chrome parts and exhaust pipes located on the sides, but its impact is not specified. The engine operates with a three-speed automatic transmission; the rear axle uses a Ford axle. The suspension is equipped with pneumatic elements.
The seller claims that the Batmobile has traveled less than 4.2 thousand kilometers since its assembly. Despite its exotic appearance and design, the sports car is allowed on public roads.
