In the states, auto dealer SpeedArt Motorsports has put up for sale a Mercedes-Benz SL 500 roadster, which the seller calls one of the best examples of this model in existence. The car was produced 23 years ago and was practically not used. The car was valued at $78,000, while the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the USA is sold for 20 thousand cheaper.
The silver body of this Mercedes-Benz SL 500 is combined with gray nappa leather and walnut wood in the cabin. Additional options include an AMG body kit, branded 18-inch wheels, heated seats and premium Bose acoustics, as well as xenon optics. New tires were recently installed on the car.
The roadster is equipped with a 5-liter naturally-aspirated V8. The engine develops 306 hp. With. and 460 Nm and works with a 5-speed automatic transmission that transmits torque to the rear wheels. The SL family also had a more powerful model with a V12, but many fans consider the version with an 8-cylinder engine to be more balanced, including due to its lower weight.
This example was assembled in Sindelfingen in March 2000, and the first owner owned the car for 22 years. Apparently, he initially treated the luxury roadster as an investment, since he hardly used the car, having covered only 1,750 km during this time. The current owner, who bought the Youngtimer a year ago, has added about 900 more km.
The dealer claims that the roadster, despite its venerable age, is in almost new condition. This is due not only to the fact that the Mercedes was almost never driven, but also due to constant care. Additionally, the machine has never been used in inclement weather and has only been stored indoors.
