Paul Walker



Paul Walker rose to global fame starring as one of the lead characters in the hit *Fast & Furious* franchise. The series was a massive success, and producers were planning several more installments, naturally featuring Paul. But in November 2013, right in the middle of filming *Furious 7*, the world was shocked by the star's sudden death. In a tragic twist of fate, Walker lost his life in a car crash.

Instead of scrapping the project, the producers found a creative way forward. In *Furious 7*, several scenes feature a digital recreation of Walker, brought to life by visual effects studio Weta Digital.

Heath Ledger





Australian actor Heath Ledger left an unforgettable legacy with his iconic roles in *The Dark Knight*, *Brokeback Mountain*, and *10 Things I Hate About You*. His final project was *The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus*, which he sadly never got to see finished. On January 22, 2008, Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment from an accidental prescription drug overdose.

To save the film, the crew rewrote parts of the script. When Tony (Ledger's character) steps through a magical mirror, his appearance changes completely. The role was then completed by three different actors: Colin Farrell, Jude Law, and Johnny Depp.

Robert Knox



British actor Robert Knox died from fatal stabbing wounds suffered during a street fight while defending his younger brother. His final film appearance was in *Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince*, where he played the minor role of Marcus Belby—a performance that could have served as a major stepping stone for his young career.

Shortly before his death, Knox had signed a contract to reprise his role in the franchise's finale, *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows*, but tragically never got the chance.

Brandon Lee

The accident occurred during a scene where Lee's character is shot with a handgun. The crew failed to notice a dummy bullet tip lodged in the barrel, which was discharged by a blank round, striking Lee in the abdomen. He suffered massive blood loss and passed away just 17 days before his planned wedding. The footage of the shooting was destroyed, and the scene was reshot.

Gloria Foster
