A resident of London walked through the streets with a camel (5 photos + 2 videos)
In a video posted on social media, a woman leads a camel along a quiet residential street in Chingford, north London. Local residents watched what was happening in bewilderment.
It turned out that this was preparation for the Christmas procession; the camel is usually accompanied by three wise men.
In the UK, keeping camels as pets is not illegal, but owners are required to obtain a license.
In the video, the author can be heard saying: "I'm seeing too many strange things today. What's going on? What's going on? Listen, this girl told me there was a camel outside. I thought she was lying. I actually thought she was cheating." .
The hilarious video was posted on December 18th and has already received over 378,000 views.
Viewers were quick to share their jokes about why the animal was walking around London.
"Someone has taken the school nativity play to a whole new level."
"Great way to bypass ULEZ fees."
"This new Uber vehicle is very popular in London, so the traffic jams are no longer a problem."
"He has a hump with ULEZ."
The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) is an area covering central London where some vehicle owners have to pay a fee to enter.
Last year, True Life Baptist Church's Christmas parade was criticized for including a live camel and donkey. Animal rights activists called for a ban on the procession and staged a protest.
Nick Gibb, who helped organize the event, said: "The procession lasts 45 minutes and the people riding the animals have to be of a certain weight. The animals are specially chosen and well cared for. "People love the event and that's the whole point of it. "The real meaning of Christmas, which needs to be conveyed to society. We, too, like activists, love animals. We cooperate only with responsible breeders, and these are the animals that were in the history of Christmas."
