Porsche produced only 918 examples of the 918 Spyder super hybrid for the entire world. One of them, the 656th in a row, was created to a special order - in addition to a number of additional options, the spider received a unique exterior and interior trim. The other day it went under the hammer at Sotheby's for $3,937,500, which is almost double the previous record price for this model.





New 918 Spyder super hybrids cost at least 845 thousand dollars in the USA. This particular copy cost the owner about 200 thousand more, and half of the premium was spent on design solutions. The body of the spider was painted in an original shade of white, and for the interior, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur developed a yacht-style upholstery using dark blue leather, carbon inserts and white accents. The design of the set of luggage bags included with the supercar follows a similar style.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is also equipped with the optional Weissach package, which included, for example, magnesium wheels (they were also painted white) and a rear wing, a front axle lifting system for passing speed bumps and a number of smaller improvements.

Having paid more than a million dollars for a supercar in 2015, the owner, in fact, did not use it. The Porsche 918 Spyder was considered an element of a car collection - it was put up for auction with less than 20 kilometers on the clock. Meanwhile, at the time of its creation, the 918 Spyder was considered one of the most outstanding supercars on the planet.
