At the celebration of its own 75th anniversary, Porsche introduced the concept of an all-electric Mission X hypercar. companies claim that it is the ideological successor of the 959 models, Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, and in terms of applied technologies anticipates future production cars.
Porsche Mission X, whose name clearly echoes harbinger of Taikan - the Mission E concept, has approximately 4.5 meters in length, 2 meters wide and less than 1.2 meters high with a wheelbase of 2.73 meters. The car rides on wheels of different sizes - 20-inch in front and 21-inch rear. The body is painted in a specially developed shade Rocket Metallic.
Including four main elements of the branded headpiece optics received a new interpretation with a vertical orientation - in the spirit of racing models 906 and 908. The rear lights stretched across the entire width of the stern with backlit Porsche logo in the middle: when charging, it flashes letter E. Among other things, Mission X was the first Porsche with an updated logo.
The interior of the hypercar is made emphatically driver's, which is expressed including in different colors for the trim of the driver's and passenger's seats. Both while equipped with six-point seat belts. On the passenger side side mounted specially designed by Porsche Design stopwatch to measure lap times.
Details about the power plant are not disclosed. Known only that the batteries are installed behind the seats, and the system is 900 volts, which allows battery packs to charge approximately twice as fast as the Taycan Turbo S. power and weight about 1 hp per 1 kg and the downforce is much more, than the new 911 GT3 RS.
Porsche says that if Mission X goes into series, then will be the fastest road car on the Nürburgring. It means, that the electric car will have to overtake the hybrid Mercedes-AMG One, who captured the title last fall. However, the absolute record Porsche still owns the Northern Loop: it was installed in 2018 the 919 Hybrid Evo sports prototype, which completed the 20.8-kilometer lap in 5 minutes 19.55 seconds.
