A Canadian flew with his family on vacation to Florida and lost his wedding ring. On the beach, he met a local resident with a metal detector, and he said that if he found gold jewelry, he would definitely return it.
Stefan Seguin lost his wedding ring while swimming in St. Augustine, Florida.
“We looked for the ring every day and eventually saw Joseph with a metal detector on the shore. I didn’t want to tell him about the loss, I was afraid that he would find the product and keep it for himself,” admitted Stephane, a tinsmith from Quebec.
However, his wife, Marie-Eve, turned to the American for help. He replied that if he finds it, he will definitely return the jewelry.
It's worth noting that Joseph Cook returned a $40,000 diamond ring last year.
A week later the couple returned home to Canada. A resident of Florida came to the beach every day and looked for the ring; after a month, his search was crowned with success.
As soon as the metal detector beeps, Cook begins recording video and shares his findings on social media.
Like any other find, Joseph posted the jewelry on his page. Returning home, Stefan and Marie-Eve watched the videos in hopes of seeing the jewel. They sent the treasure hunter a message and a photo of Stefan with the jewelry to prove that it belonged to them.
The couple bought a gold ring while preparing for their wedding in 2011. The celebration was postponed until 2025, but Stefan still began to wear the jewelry.
Canadians traveled 2,500 km to personally thank Joseph and invite him to their wedding.
Cook, 38, said: "They thanked me a million times and said October is their lucky month now. That's why I do it."
Joseph declined the cash reward, but the couple gave him several gift baskets and invited him to dinner.
"In the basket were various things from Quebec and a coffee mug that said 'Helping Others,' which is very cool. I'm helping by giving things back," Joseph explained. "A ten-dollar trinket can be priceless to someone."
