Unfortunately, stories appear again and again about people who treat their pets simply unfairly... But the puppy that we will talk about today, fortunately, was saved and is now slowly recovering!
Landis was found when he was 2 years old.
Most dogs of his age look much older, and in general are already quite mature. But our poor puppy was kept in a cramped cage that was in no way suitable for his size for almost his entire life!
This factor turned out to be more than destructive to his health.
The dog did not feel any better even when he was released from the tiny prison. He was hunched over, staggering on his legs bent at 90 degrees, and it was clear that the animal was in pain...
The dog was sent to the shelter, which quickly contacted Second Chance Rescue.
The employees of this organization took only one look at the dog to understand that they must immediately take the pet away. These people decisively wanted to do everything in their power to return the puppy to his lost health, carefreeness and childhood!
“Looking at him, you would have guessed that the poor guy grew up in a very small confined space. And just think, you would be right! Where do monsters like his former owners come from?” the organization writes on Facebook.
But the good news was that the physical damage done to the puppy was not permanent.
The dog was treated by a good orthopedic traumatologist who tried to avoid surgery - mainly so as not to cause the dog unnecessary pain.
Over time, the dog's condition improved. Landis was ready for adoption, and those willing to adopt such a wonderful boy were found very quickly. He ultimately chose a Cape Cod family who live in Massachusetts.
It turned out that the choice was completely correct - it seemed impossible to find a more ideal home for Landis. He was just a couple of minutes from the beach, where he often took long walks with his new brothers and sisters, his owners’ other pets.
In addition, he lived very close to a special hydrotherapy facility, so he had never missed his session.)
Now Landis is becoming healthier and happier every day!
