The life of an animal volunteer is an endless series of calls and messages about animals in trouble. It is physically impossible to respond to all the challenges, but these amazing people work until they literally fall off their feet.
At the end of January, Zaporozhye animal activist Elena Pylova was returning home after a hard day at work. But as soon as the woman saw the windows of her apartment, where her children were waiting for her, she received a call from a stranger who reported an aggressive dog that looked like a Labrador. The caller said that she saw the animal in the window of the minibus, so she could not do anything.
“I swear, I exhale, I turn around... I look at my windows with longing...,” Elena recalls.
There was no other way out, the animal rights activist went to the specified coordinates. From a distance, the woman saw two aggressive dogs who were clearly preparing to fight each other. Elena quickly ran up to them and was dumbfounded!
“A familiar face... a familiar gait - unique, an uneven paw, there are scars... familiar, painfully familiar...” the animal rights activist noted.
There was no doubt! It's Hunter! Elena is well acquainted with this dog, because last summer she saved his life.
Hunter recognized the volunteer and without hesitation rushed into her arms. The second dog immediately calmed down and quickly disappeared.
The meeting between Elena and Hunter was not pleasant. Then animal rights activists were informed about the bitten dog. It turned out to be difficult to catch the dog, because he fought back with all his might and even tried to bite Elena.
Then the dog was treated and re-educated for a long time, but the story had a happy ending - new owners were found for Hunter.

Elena was very disappointed that this dog was back on the street. The animal had to be taken to an overcrowded shelter. Immediately after this, the volunteer called the people who once took Hunter.
It turned out that these people were not guilty. Returning from work, they realized that the pet had opened the gate on its own and escaped. The owners immediately went in search of him. Apparently, Hunter remembered his past street life and decided to take a walk in the places where he used to live.
The dog was returned to the owners, who were very worried. Animal rights activists are confident that they are taking good care of her, because this has already been checked several times.
For Elena it was a very unexpected meeting, but the woman admits that she is always pleased to see animals that were once rescued and sent to families.
Almost at night everyone went home... Hunter to the owners, and Elena to the children.
