There was a shepherd dog walking among the cars on the highway (5 photos)
Very often dogs become unnecessary when they reach a certain age. At best, they live out their lives in shelters, but some are less fortunate - they end up on the street.
This is exactly the fate that befell the shepherd from Odessa...
On December 31, a local volunteer named Anastasia noticed a dog running in the middle of a busy highway. The dog was maneuvering in a dense traffic of cars and at any second could find itself under the wheels.
Anastasia stopped and carefully approached the animal. The woman treated the shepherd with caution, because at that time it was not yet clear how she would react. The animal rights activist was very surprised when the dog responded with lightning speed to the command “near!”
Anastasia realized that the animal was well trained, so she decided to take him across the road without a leash. The dog calmly walked across the 6-lane highway, foot in foot with the woman.
As soon as Anastasia opened the car, the dog immediately jumped inside. The animal activist took the animal home. There is a mark on the dog’s ear, which only confirms the guess that the dog was a service dog!
Anastasia decided to name him Bruce.
The next day, the animal activist took Bruce to the same place in the hope that he would take her to his former home. But the dog categorically refused to leave the car, and passers-by said that this shepherd had been roaming the streets for quite some time.
Anastasia realized that there was no point in searching for the previous owners. They will look for a new home for Bruce, but for now he went to paid foster care.
Life on the street has left a serious imprint on the health of the animal. Now the dog is undergoing a rehabilitation course and is eating special food.
Bruce has changed a lot in a week. He noticeably cheered up and seemed to have regained his interest in life. Animal rights activists have begun searching for a new owner for the dog. Several people have already expressed their intentions to take the dog.
Bruce is no longer young, but his heart is still open to friendship and loyalty!
Update (January 2018)
After the article was published, our editors received a letter! It turns out that the publication was seen by the dog’s owner, who had been looking for him for a long time! Miracles.
We immediately contacted the foster care group where the lost one was located at that time.
This story ended so wonderfully! We are very happy when kindred spirits are reunited and when our work brings wonderful emotions to people.
Good luck to you, Caesar, and don't run away anymore!
