This dog found itself in exactly this situation. Surely she was sad for the times when she had to live in an orphanage, because she ended up in a terrible place...
On January 27, Kremenchug animal activist Marina Kozhushko was contacted by a woman who said that her neighbors were abusing her dog. According to her, the animal is practically not fed and is not taken for walks. The dog is kept in a small closet and does not see daylight at all.
The woman also contacted the police, but to be on the safe side she decided to call animal rights activists as well.
Entering the apartment, Marina immediately became convinced that the words of the woman who called were correct.
“Everything I saw literally overwhelmed me with a wave of pity and rage! A small, smoky room, very dirty, there were “puddles and heaps” everywhere, and a stink. The dog really lives in a tiny, dark, dirty closet, very thin, squinting at the daylight,” said Marina.
When the animal rights activist took a closer look at the dog, she was horrified! The fact is that she is familiar with this animal. A few months ago, volunteers helped place this shelter dog in good hands. Then a young guy took her and promised to take good care of her.
How the animal ended up in this apartment with its drinking owners is unknown.
The owners were drunk, so Marina decided to take the dog without further ado. But the owners began to protest and said that they would not give up the pet. As soon as the owner got to his feet, the dog immediately sank to the floor! This is perhaps the most striking evidence of how these people treat their pet.
“I carefully took her in my arms, the poor thing squealed in pain, apparently as a result of the beating, trustingly pressed her and hid her muzzle in my jacket,” Marina recalls.
Then the police, who arrived on time, talked with the owners. They accepted the neighbor’s statement “On cruelty to the dog,” so the animal’s owners calmed down, realizing that they could no longer avoid punishment.
Animal rights activists took the poor dog back to the shelter. Her name was Mouse. Now the animal is being fattened, it is gaining strength.
Volunteers are again looking for owners for the Mouse, but this time they promise to closely monitor its future fate.
