BYD Leopard 8’s Unique Suspension Lets Driver Cruise Away With a Wheel Clamp On (2 Photos + 1 Video)
A viral clip on Chinese social media shows off the mind-bending capabilities of the DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension system
A video making the rounds on Chinese social media shows a BYD Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 8 SUV casually rolling down the street on just three wheels. The front-left wheel is completely raised off the ground—and still clamped tight by a parking boot. The footage was captured in Jinshan Township, located in the prefecture-level city of Lianyungang.
The SUV pulled off the acrobatic stunt courtesy of its DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension. The automaker first showcased the system’s abilities back in May 2026, demonstrating how it enables the vehicle to drive on three wheels and hoist an individual wheel up to 300 mm into the air, all while offering up to 200 mm of overall ride-height adjustment. In this three-legged mode, the SUV can travel at speeds of up to 15 km/h.
The DiSus-P Ultra suspension is a signature feature of the Bao 8 Flash Charge Edition, which hit the Chinese market in May 2026 with a starting price of 419,800 yuan. ![]()
