BYD YangWang U9 1306-horsepower electric car was valued at $236,000 (4 photos + 1 video)
BYD's premium YangWang brand has opened sales of its second model, the U9 electric hypercar. The four-engine coupe with lifting doors and a “dancing” suspension was priced at $236,400. To place an order, you must make a deposit of 42.2 thousand dollars, which cannot be returned if you refuse to purchase. 
Dimensions of YangWang U9 are 4966x2029x1295 mm, the distance between the axles is 2900 mm. The curb weight of the electric vehicle is 2475 kg. Of this, 633 kg comes from a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 80 kilowatt-hours, which should be enough for 465 kilometers on the CLTC cycle. Like some models from another BYD sub-brand, Denza, the hypercar can be charged from two terminals at the same time. The 800-volt architecture supports a charging current of up to 500 kilowatts, from 30 to 80 percent you can “refuel” in 10 minutes.
Each of the wheels of the hypercar rotates a separate 326-horsepower electric motor. In total they produce 1306 hp. and 1680 Nm. Acceleration to the first hundred takes 2.36 seconds.
BYD DiSus-X proprietary technology controls longitudinal, transverse and vertical movements of the body. This is a more advanced version of the DiSus-P hydropneumatic system that debuted on the YangWang U8 super SUV. It prevents the body from swaying and pitching, allows you to move on three wheels, jump in place and “dance”. To demonstrate its capabilities in U9, there are appropriate presets, including for the “tank turn”.
There are three screens installed in the YangWang U9 cabin - one each in front of the driver and passenger and a central one with a vertical orientation. The coupe's driver interface is called DiLink and is powered by a chip jointly developed by BYD and Qualcomm. The equipment includes a set of DiPilot driving assistants, including, among other things, a parking assistant.
Among Chinese electric vehicles, the main competitor to the YangWang U9 may be the 1224-horsepower GAC Aion Hyper SSR. Prices for the latter start from 1,286,000 yuan (181 thousand dollars).
