The Great Actor's Four Children: The Abandoned, The Slighted, The Favorite, and The Late Son (10 photos)

Alain Delon passed away on August 18, 2024, surrounded by all three of his legitimate children. For the first time in years, they found themselves in the same room—a moment that briefly resembled a reconciliation. Yet, just a few months later, they were back in court, pitted against one another. The story of Delon’s children plays out like a tragic movie script—one with no happy ending in sight.

Ari Boulogne: The Unacknowledged Firstborn

In the early 1960s, Alain Delon had an affair with Christa Päffgen, better known to the world as Nico. She sang with the legendary band The Velvet Underground, appeared in Federico Fellini's films, and served as Andy Warhol’s muse. In 1962, she gave birth to their son, Christian Aaron, whom she affectionately called Ari.

Delon refused to acknowledge the child, as he was planning to marry Nathalie Barthélémy at the time. Nico initially raised Ari on her own, but soon entrusted him to Delon’s mother, Édith, and her second husband. They adopted the young boy and gave him their family name: Boulogne.

Ari grew up in the looming shadows of two icons. His mother spiraled into severe drug addiction, while his father denied his very existence. In his memoir,

Love Never Forgets

, Ari revealed that he and Nico had shared needles starting when he was just 16. He tried his hand at acting and writing, but his career never took off.

His striking resemblance to Delon was obvious from youth, yet the screen legend stubbornly refused to ever recognize him legally.

In 2001, Ari filed a lawsuit seeking paternity recognition. However, in 2020, a French court ruled it lacked jurisdiction because Delon had been residing in Switzerland since 1984. Delon never conceded. Ari passed away on May 20, 2023—a year before his father. He was found dead in his Paris apartment, partially paralyzed at the age of 60.

Anthony Delon: The Fatherless Eldest Son

On September 30, 1964, Anthony was born in Los Angeles—Delon's first legitimate son, born to his wife Nathalie. A year later, the family returned to France. His parents divorced in 1968, leaving Anthony in his mother’s care. With his father largely absent and his mother consumed by her career, the boy was mostly raised by his godfather, art agent Georges Beaume.

Anthony carved out an acting career entirely on his own, without his father's backing, starring in dozens of French and Italian films. Outside acting, he pursued auto racing and environmental causes. When his mother, Nathalie, passed away in 2021, he stayed by her side until the very end. Two years later, Ari died.

Anthony Delon forged his acting career without relying on his famous father, appearing in dozens of French and Italian productions.

His relationship with his father was fraught from the start. In November 2023, while Delon was still alive, Anthony filed a legal claim against his sister Anouchka, accusing her of hiding the true severity of their father's failing health. Delon’s attorney denounced Anthony’s actions as outrageous. Under the actor’s will, Anthony receives 25% of the estate, which is estimated at €150 million.

Anouchka Delon: The Daughter Who Stayed Close

Anouchka was born in 1990 to Dutch model Rosalie van Breemen. She was the only child who chose devotement over conflict, staying close to her father throughout his life. During his final months, she lived near him in Douchy, where Delon spent his last days.

In July 2024, it was Anouchka who released photos revealing her father's frail health, leading to public confirmation of his battles with cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Delon died a month later. According to his 2022 will, Anouchka inherits 50% of his estate—double the share of each of her brothers. She was also granted the image rights and creative legacy of her father, including a controlling 51% stake in Alain Delon International Distribution.

One of the photos Anouchka shared on social media in early 2024, confirming her father's declining health.

In January 2024, she filed a defamation lawsuit against both of her brothers. In June 2026, the court ruled in her favor, ordering Anthony to pay a €1,000 fine plus €3,000 in damages, while Alain-Fabien was fined €1,000 with €2,000 in damages—amounts far below what she had originally sought.

Alain-Fabien Delon: The Resentful Youngest Son

Born on March 18, 1994, Alain-Fabien is Delon’s youngest child, sharing a mother—Rosalie van Breemen—with Anouchka. He entered acting at a young age, making his screen debut alongside his father in the TV series

Fabio Montale

(2001), and later appearing in the film

Golden Youth

(2019). Today, he works as an actor and model.

As a teenager, he struggled with severe substance abuse, prompting his mother to send him to boarding school abroad. Fluent in four languages—French, Dutch, English, and German—he has repeatedly stated in interviews that he felt abandoned by his father.

During his teenage years, Alain-Fabien bounced between boarding schools while battling addiction—an ordeal he later spoke about candidly, blaming his father.

On August 29, 2025, he launched a lawsuit against Anouchka, Anthony, and the three executors of the estate, seeking to invalidate the 2022 will. Alain-Fabien claims that Delon was suffering from cognitive decline when he signed the documents—a claim supported by medical records dating back to 2019, which he alleges Anouchka intentionally hid from the rest of the family.

An Estate Divided

Alain Delon died without ever bringing peace to his children. The family that appeared united beside his coffin quickly fractured in courtrooms across Europe. Four children, four separate fates—and four different lives spent in the shadow of a legendary name.

Ari passed away before his father, having never earned the recognition he craved. Anthony sued his sister while Delon was still alive, ultimately being ordered in June 2026 to pay her damages for defamation. Meanwhile, the feud between Alain-Fabien and Anouchka rages on: a key Paris court hearing regarding the will was slated for March 9, 2026, but ended in a dramatic twist rather than a verdict. Settlement talks are simultaneously underway in Switzerland, with no resolution in sight.

The conflict has escalated beyond legal maneuvers. According to reports in the French press, Alain-Fabien has accused Anthony of killing his dog, while Anthony claims his younger brother tried to set fire to the garden at the family estate. It is no longer just a dispute over money—it is the complete collapse of a family.

Four children, four tragic trajectories—and not a single one left with anything from their iconic father other than grief and litigation. Do you think Anouchka deserved the larger share of the inheritance, or are her brothers justified in their claims?
