Chinese scientists create the world's blackest car paint (3 photos)
Chinese scientists have created the world's blackest car paint, which absorbs over 99.9% of visible light. The coating is based on a combination of carbon black and carbon nanotubes, which form a microstructure that repeatedly reflects and absorbs light within the surface.
The paint has successfully passed moisture and water resistance tests. Moreover, it can be applied with a standard automotive spray gun, unlike many previous ultra-black materials.
